Pen and Ink Bird Series

The pen and ink Bird Series are studies. My goal was to capture the essence of the birds I saw on the beach. The best way was to isolate the bird from the environment. I chose pen and ink as the medium to achieve this because the medium is primarily line. I was able to concentrate on the bird, capturing my feeling and making a portrait of it.
