Pastels

Pastels are a quick way to draw a picture using as many or as few colors desired. The colors and texture of the medium are a way to get the exact image I want. For example, there is another piece I am working on and I need to have a side view of just a birds head. Rather than spend days-weeks using watercolors or oils to paint the bird, which takes prep and drying time, I can draw the bird getting the intense color of oils in a day. The pastels, although studies for another project, are stand alone works of art.
